What do I do with my old furniture?

I hear this all the time from my clients. Keeping your home updated to maximize functionality, style and comfort is so vital to your soul and well-being. Don’t let your old stuff keep you from moving forward with your life. You can donate it! Knowing that you are helping someone in need is a great feeling…and so is keeping it out of a landfill.

For the Westchester County NY locals, here are some recommendations:

My Brother Vinny

https://www.mybrothervinny.org/

Non-profit charitable organization that distributes food, clothing, furniture and housewares to U.S. Veterans, outreach groups, shelters and families in Westchester County/vicinities.

Furniture Sharehouse

http://www.furnituresharehouse.org/how-you-can-help/donate-furniture

Not-for-profit organization, provides Westchester County individuals and families with free basic household furnishings they need, enabling them to rebuild their lives with dignity. Go to their website to find drop-off locations and to learn more about pick ups.

Habitat for Humanity

https://www.habitat.org/

They will pick up gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances at no cost. These items will be resold to the public and proceeds are used to build strength, stability and self-reliance locally and around the world.

For our out-of-state friends, please look into your own local charities.
